Reed—Extreme Winter Sports

Born in 1980, this extreme sports enthusiast, insurance adjuster, and turtle farmer from Rochester, Minnesota, has been making quite a name for himself on the Red Bull Crashed Ice international circuit. Reed Whiting's team Prestige Worldwide trained at OMC's Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance (SMAP) facility in preparation for the 2015 Crashed Ice finals in St. Paul, subsequently winning the team competition. And this former bull-rider has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

Tyler—NHL Draft Prep

Tyler Vesel, a Rochester resident who graduated in 2013 from Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minnesota, was drafted by the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Edmonton Oilers in 2014. Now a student at the University of Nebraska – Omaha, Tyler uses Olmsted Medical Center's Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance whenever he's back home to keep his skills honed and his body toned.

Ali—Circuit Training & Hockey Treadmill

When I began my marketing and communications internship at Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) in late May 2014, I imagined my summer would be filled with computer work, attending meetings, and making coffee for my officemates. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be placed on a hockey treadmill. What is a hockey treadmill, you ask? Good question. I myself didn’t even know the answer to that question until one afternoon when I was placed on the high-tech contraption with the help of OMC’s Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance (SMAP) staff. But before I get into the details of my treadmill experience, along with the circuit-training session I sampled, I should introduce myself.
