How long has Dr. Babovic been a Plastic Surgeon?
Dr. Babovic has been in practice in the United States since 1998.

Do you have more than one plastic surgeon?
Dr. Babovic is Olmsted Medical Center’s only plastic surgeon.

What is the most common plastic surgery Dr. Babovic performs?
Breast surgery is one of Dr. Babovic’s specialties. He performs breast reduction and augmentation, as well as reconstruction following mastectomy.

Other procedures frequently performed by Dr. Babovic include tummy tucks, liposuction, face-lifts, and eyelid and eyebrow surgeries.

Surgery and Procedure:

Plastic surgery is a very personal choice. What about my privacy?
Olmsted Medical Center, as an organization, is dedicated to maintaining the privacy of our patients as one of our most important goals.

Our Plastic Surgery Department offers a private entrance for discreet access. Our staff of trained professionals knows that privacy is important to all our patients and keep that goal first and foremost throughout your treatment.

Will I have restrictions following my surgery?
Recuperation time following plastic surgery is different for each individual and depends on the procedure. Generally, there is “downtime” associated with open plastic surgery, similar to other surgery recovery.

One common restriction following all plastic surgery procedures is no lifting of 30 pounds or more for six weeks afterwards.

A registered nurse will discuss postoperative care with you prior to your surgery.

Is there anything I can do about rosacea?
Yes, with Intense Pulse Light treatments the inflammation of rosacea can be significantly reduced and managed.

What is the difference between a tummy tuck and liposuction of the tummy?
The abdominoplasty (a.k.a. tummy tuck) removes the excess skin and fat from the abdomen as well as tightens the muscles of the abdominal wall.

Liposuction of the abdominal region removes deposits of excess fat only. Liposuction is a less invasive procedure than the abdominoplasty.

How can I get rid of the hair on my face?
With the Intense Pulsed Light we can significantly reduce the growth of dark unwanted hair. This procedure can also be used on other parts of the body.

Can I improve my facial wrinkles without surgery and a great deal of downtime?
Your facial features can be improved by using minimally invasive laser skin tightening. In addition to the laser, the use of Botox and soft tissue fillers may also be options.

What is a “Liquid Lift?”
A Liquid Lift technique is a minimally invasive facial rejuvenation that combines Botox injections and a few different soft tissue fillers to enhance the facial appearance. This is done in an office (outpatient) setting.

Are you using fractionated laser for facial and neck rejuvenation?
Yes, we are currently using both a non-ablative 1440 Yag Laser, which requires no downtime; and the 2940 ablative Yag laser, which generally involves 5-7 days of downtime.

My skin is sensitive. It’s difficult for me to use any products,
including sun block. Is there anything I can use?

One of our therapeutic skin care lines is plant- and vitamin- based. These products are gentle on your skin and offer the necessary daily sun protection.

We carry a number of skin-care products that are not generally commercially available and/or require a prescription to obtain. One of our team members would be happy to discuss them with you. If you become a patient, you will have access to our complete line.

Payment and Financial Questions:

What are my payment options for plastic surgery?
One of the integral parts of the consultation following the visit with Dr. Babovic is answering any financial questions you may have.

At the time of the consultation, you will meet with the business office manager who will discuss the insurance process if this is a viable option. Costs for any cosmetic procedures will be given to you at that time as well.

Fees for our services range widely. Since many procedures are medically necessary, we will work with your insurance and explain what portion will be your responsibility.

Procedures that aren’t medically necessary require payment in advance. If you currently have a substantial unpaid balance at Olmsted Medical Center and choose elective plastic surgery, you will need to rectify the unpaid balance and pay the procedure cost in advance.

The OMC Plastic Surgery Department works closely with the lending agency of the Home Federal Savings Bank. Arrangements for financing can be done through them. A packet of information can be provided to you. They can also be contacted through their website www.justcallhome.com.

If you have questions or concerns about financial information, please contact us.
