Our Staff
Srdan Babovic, MD
Srdan Babovic, MD, is an accomplished and experienced physician and surgeon who has received extensive training at leading medical institutions in the United States and abroad. He has conducted medical research and published research findings in leading professional journals. His main areas of interest are cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Babovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia (the former Yugoslavia). He received his medical degree from the University of Sarajevo in 1981. Following graduation, he conducted basic research at the university for two years. Then, at the University Medical Center in Sarajevo, he completed his surgical internship (1982); and a residency in plastic surgery (1989).
He also was a resident in plastic surgery at the University Clinical Center in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1989. Dr. Babovic became a Fellow in Microsurgery at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow in 1992.
From 1992-1995 he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University. From 1995 to 2000, Dr. Babovic completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in plastic surgery, both at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Since 2000, he has been a practicing plastic surgeon, first with Plastic Surgery Associates in St. Paul, Minn.; and currently at Olmsted Medical Center.
