Chief Medical Officer

The Chief Medical Officer provides clinical leadership and medical direction for Olmsted Medical Center, guiding the quality, safety, and effectiveness of care across the organization. 

The CMO oversees the medical staff, clinical operations, and quality improvement initiatives, working closely with physician and administrative leaders to strengthen care delivery and operational efficiency.

Mark Wilbur, MDMark Wilbur, MD, joined OMC in 2005 as a family medicine physician at the Byron Clinic. Over the years he has partnered with his patients to improve their health and wellness, making a positive difference in their lives. Dr. Wilbur served as a board member on the Olmsted Medical Center Board of Trustees from 2014-2021.

From 2013-2022, he served as department chair for our community clinics and as division chair for primary care and medical subspecialties, a position he assumed in 2022. Over the years he has built trusting relationships across the organization, putting together effective teams to improve care, access, and efficiency.

As CMO, Dr. Wilbur is responsible for the overall medical direction of OMC. He oversees the medical staff, clinical operations, and quality improvement initiatives.
