Olmsted Medical Center’s ENT specialists—also known as otolaryngologists—diagnose and treat a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions for both adults and children. Our team provides medical and surgical treatment for acute and chronic concerns, helping patients restore comfort, function, and quality of life.

Comprehensive Care

Our ENT specialists care for conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck, including:

  • chronic ear infections (including ear tube placement)
  • sinusitis and other sinus issues
  • snoring and noisy breathing
  • deviated septum
  • nosebleeds
  • swimmer’s ear
  • excessive earwax
  • eardrum abnormalities or repair
  • trauma (e.g., broken nose)
  • foreign body removal (ears, nose, or throat)
  • hoarseness and vocal cord disorders
  • reflux (GERD and laryngopharyngeal reflux)
  • swallowing difficulties (narrowed throat, blocked airway)
  • tonsil, adenoid, or uvula infections/enlargement
  • lesions and cysts
  • age-related hearing loss

If needed, our ENT specialists partner with OMC’s Plastic Surgery department, such as for septorhinoplasty (nasal repair) as part of treatment.

Advanced Diagnostic Tools

We use specialized equipment, including an oral pharyngeal pH probe and video scope for nasopharyngeal exams, to accurately diagnose and treat conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ENT treat all head and neck disorders?

Our ENT specialists provide comprehensive care for the ears, nose, and throat. Disorders of the brain, thyroid, and eyes are treated by other OMC specialists.

Is hearing loss diagnosed and treated by ENT?

Yes. ENT specialists can evaluate structural and age-related causes of hearing loss. OMC’s Audiology team also provides care for hearing loss and balance disorders.

Does ENT provide cancer treatment?

Certain cancers of the head and neck are treated by our ENT specialists. Referral may be required for follow-up care.

Does OMC’s ENT team pierce ears?

No. Ear piercing is considered a cosmetic service, not a medical procedure.

Appointments and Referrals

Referrals to ENT often come from primary care physicians, the Emergency department, or Urgent Care providers. However, patients may also schedule appointments directly if they have concerns about their ears, nose, or throat.
