Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Olmsted Medical Center has recognized the impact the current opioid epidemic has had across the country and in our own communities. The MAT clinic is a specialized clinic aimed at effectively treating Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) utilizing medications such as buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone). We are here to help.

Our Services:
The MAT clinic provides treatment for opioid use disorder. Treatment may include:
- Prescribed medications to reduce opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms. For example, buprenorphine/naloxone sublingual films (Suboxone) or Naltrexone long acting injection (Vivitrol)
- Prescribed medications to assist in recovery from alcohol and nicotine use
- Prescription opioid tapering
The MAT Clinic team will partner with multidisciplinary specialists to develop a comprehensive care plan for patient's recovery. The team will help develop a plan and help connect patients to any needed resources. Examples of this include:
- Working with a social worker to address patient needs
- Referrals for counseling services
- Referrals to other addiction treatment services, if appropriate
MAT program includes:
- Initial phone screening questionnaire with a registered nurse
- Initial in clinic appointment/induction and required labs
- Weekly clinic visits for the first month with decreasing appointment frequency based on treatment progress
- Collaboration with primary care and other specialty providers as well as community resources to provide continuity of care
Goals of treatment are individualized but generally include:
- Preventing and reducing withdrawal symptoms
- Preventing and reducing cravings for other opioids
- Restoring physical health and wellness
- Improving quality of life and relationships

- The clinic is located on the 3rd floor of the Rochester Southeast Clinic (210 9th St. SE Rochester, MN)
- Clinic Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
