Sports Performance Training

Improve your athletic performance and fitness in a wide range of programs at Olmsted Medical Center (OMC)'s Sports Medicine & Athletic Performance facility. Skill-specific training programs can help you increase your abilities and prevent injuries.

Personal Training for Fitness & Sports 

If you're new to conditioning or you want to take your fitness to a higher level, personal training can help. Work towards your goals in a specific sport or general improved fitness.

Individual & Group Training

Purchase personal training for groups of up to six athletes.

Certified Personal Trainers

You'll partner with a certified personal trainer who will individualize your workouts to your unique needs and goals. Rely on your trainer to help you stay focused and use your time in the gym effectively.

Free First Session

If you're a first-time client, take advantage of a complimentary personal training session.

Functional Movement Screen

During your first personal training session, you'll have a functional movement screen, or FMS. This is a test to check your current fitness levels. 

Speed, Agility & Quickness Training

If you're an athlete age 13 or older, attend a class that compliments strength training. This class can help you improve:

  • Change of direction
  • Lateral quickness
  • Reaction time
  • Sprint speed
  • Vertical jump

Youth Speed, Agility & Quickness Training

Open to athletes 10 to 12 years old, this program gives young athletes training for improved performance in a fun atmosphere. Learn the basic fundamentals of running, change of direction, jumping, and foot movement.

Off-Season & Preseason Conditioning

If you're an athlete between age 13 or 22, build strength and reduce the risk of injuries during your sport's offseason or preseason. Partner with strength and conditioning coaches and focus on proper form and technique. You'll use resistance and sport-specific conditioning equipment in our gym and weight room.

This program uses the EliteForm® electronic training system, which lets your coach measure your bar speed and power output so you can work towards your strength goals. You may also benefit from our gym, weight room, and the Blade Hockey Treadmill for sport-specific conditioning.

Select Training

This program is designed to build your strength, speed and conditioning levels during the off-season. This program will include both resistance training, speed and power development and conditioning based on your sport. This program is for athletes ages 13 to 18.

The objective of this program is to improve strength, speed and conditioning as well as help reduce the risk of sports related injuries. Our strength and conditioning coaches focus on proper form and technique of the resistance equipment, sport specific conditioning utilizing our gym and weight room.

The OMC Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance uses the EliteForm® electronic training system for state of the art programming. Minimum of 5 athletes to hold the class.
