Guidelines for OMC Patients and Visitors

Effective October 6, 2021, OMC has updated the visitor policy. 

All Locations:

  • At this time, no visitors in the Emergency department except:
    • One caregiver for a patient who requires a caregiver
    • One visitor for a pediatric patient
  • Patients may have up to two visitors at a time during the hours of 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
  • No visitors under the age of 12.
  • No overnight visitors except for in the BirthCenter.  The BirthCenter may have one overnight visitor.
  • Certified Doulas will be allowed only during birth and delivery.
  • Patients and caregivers will be given an OMC sticker to wear for the duration of their time in the OMC facility.
  • Anyone entering OMC will be screened for symptoms and masked. If they do not have a mask, one will be provided.
  • Waiting areas are configured to allow for appropriate social distancing.
  • Visitors exhibiting COVID-like symptoms, as defined by OMC in conjunction with CDC and MDH guidelines, will not be permitted in OMC facilities.
  • Patients will be able to freely exercise their religion by receiving religious services from the religious leaders of their choice at any reasonable time as long as the visit does not disrupt care. Visiting clergy must follow hospital safety policies.

For Occupational Health Patients:

  • Qualified Rehabilitation Consultant (QRC) or employer. 

Exceptions to the visitor policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
