Drive-through Influenza Vaccination Clinic: Sept. 14 - Oct. 30, 2020

Flu season is just around the corner. Now, more than ever, it is important that everyone six months of age or older be vaccinated against the flu in order to protect themselves and those around them. Influenza (flu) can cause serious health issues, especially in young children, older adults, and people with medical conditions. This year’s flu season could impact our communities in unexpected ways due to the COVID-19 pandemic and put additional stress on healthcare resources that are already stressed.

To help protect patients against getting the flu, OMC will be offering a drive-through flu vaccination clinic at the Rochester Northwest Clinic beginning September 14. There is no appointment needed to use the drive-through. Patients can also get vaccinated against the flu by scheduling an appointment with their primary care provider.

OMC’s drive-through flu clinic will be open Monday through Friday, from September 14, 2020 until October 30, 2020, weather permitting. Located under a tent in the upper level of the NW Clinic parking lot, the hours will be as follows:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Note: if the drive-through flu clinic needs to close due to weather, information will be posted to OMC’s Facebook page.

The CDC strongly recommends that people, especially older individuals, and those with medical conditions, wait until September or October to get the flu vaccine. This will maximize their protection should the flu season begin later than expected or last longer than expected.
