BirthCenter Visitor/Support Person Information

Olmsted Medical Center is continually monitoring the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). The ongoing safety of patients, staff, and the community remains OMC’s primary focus. As a result, the OMC BirthCenter has updated policies for visitors, specifically the support person, to the BirthCenter.
Effective Tuesday, March 24, to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, only one support person will be allowed to accompany a pregnant women to the Birth Center. This support person will not be able to re-enter the BirthCenter if they leave. Additionally, the support person must be healthy. No one with fever (greater than 100.4 F), cough, or other respiratory symptoms will be allowed in the BirthCenter. All BirthCenter patients should enter through the Women’s Health Pavilion doors. Do NOT go the Emergency Department.
