As a nurse practitioner in Family Medicine, Michelle Higgins, APRN, CNP, DNP, is dedicated to enriching lives through expert care. Michelle’s clinical interests include preventive health, trauma-informed care, and chronic disease management, particularly within underserved populations. She enjoys caring for individuals and families across the lifespan, from infants to older adults. Michelle holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Transcultural Nursing and is passionate about building long-lasting relationships with patients to provide holistic, culturally sensitive care tailored to the unique needs of individuals and families. She has a special interest in women’s health, including family planning and contraceptive counseling, and is committed to empowering patients through education and lifestyle modification to support long-term wellness.
Personal Interests
Outside of her clinical practice, Michelle enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with family and friends, exploring National Parks, exercising, and reading. She values quality time with her husband and children and finds joy in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Michelle is passionate about educating and mentoring nurse practitioner students both in the classroom and in clinical settings, helping to prepare the next generation of healthcare providers. She is also actively involved in her church, serving as a leader for the high school youth group.
