Our Health Educators
Olmsted Medical Center offers a multidisciplinary education program which emphasizes prevention, self-management, and healthy living. Our educators are excellent resources for patients who want to uncover the "secrets" of living a healthier life.
Jamie Breuer, RD
Jamie received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin—Stout. She completed her practical work at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Fairview. She is certified in adult weight management. Jamie joined the OMC team in 2006.
Shawn Craig, RD
Shawn received her Bachelor of Science degree at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California. She did her practical work at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. She worked in cardiac rehabilitation and community nutrition before joining the OMC team in 2003.
Elizabeth Vermilya, RD, LD
Liz received her Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Medical Dietetics from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She previously worked in pediatrics and community health before coming to OMC. She is certified in pediatric and childhood weight management. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Liz joined the OMC team in 2015.
Greg Hagen, RN, CDE, CHES
Greg received his Bachelor of Arts (Biology) at St. Olaf College and a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at Winona State University. Greg also spent a one-year internship at the health service of the University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point and the National Wellness Conference working in wellness/health promotion. Greg has certifications as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) since 1990 and as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) since 1992. Greg is a member of the American Association of Diabetic Educators (AADE). He joined the OMC team in 1998.
Bridget Ideker, RD, LD
Bridget received her Bachelor of Science in Community-Medical Dietetics from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She has previously worked in long-term care and home-care settings. Bridget worked as the Nutrition Services Manager at OMC's hospital before taking her current outpatient clinical dietitian position with OMC. Bridget has held positions at the local and state level of Dietetic Associations. Bridget joined the OMC team in 2001.
Janice (Jan) Miller, RN, MSN, CDE
Jan received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and later, completed her Masters in Nursing at Winona State. She has been involved in diabetes education for 23 years, receiving her Certification in Diabetes Education (CDE) in 1993. she has worked as diabetes educator at Genesys Home Health and Hospice, Flint, Michigan; in the High Risk Pregnancy Program at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Michigan, and as a CDE in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
She had been very active in the development of Southern Minnesota Organization of Diabetes Educators, acting as President, and is also involved with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) Currently, she is the Vice-President of Winona State Nursing National Honor Society, Kappa Mu. Jan joined OMC in 2004.
